MISSION AND VISION
PUBLIC AWARENESS, ACTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS
OUR VISION
Congolese people affected by conflict and displacement receive the trauma-informed care, education, and access to justice they need to rebuild their lives with dignity.
OUR MISSION
To relieve hardship, advance education, and promote human rights for Congolese communities affected by conflict and displacement in the United Kingdom, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burundi, through evidence-based programmes delivered in partnership with trusted local organisations.
OUR VALUES
• Trauma-informed care - we recognise what people have been through and create safe, supportive environments where healing is possible
• Dignity and respect - we treat every person we work with as an individual, centre their choices, and never define them by their experiences
• Cultural understanding - we deliver services in the right language, with the cultural sensitivity that makes a real difference
• Accountability - we measure what we do, report honestly on what we find, and answer to our
beneficiaries, trustees, and funders
• Partnership - we work alongside trusted organisations in the UK, DRC, and Burundi, because the best support is built on strong relationships
SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding is a core responsibility, not an afterthought. All volunteers and any staff working directly with beneficiaries hold enhanced DBS checks and complete mandatory safeguarding training before starting.
We have a designated safeguarding lead, clear reporting procedures, and risk assessments for all activities.
Our partner organisations in DRC and Burundi are required to maintain equivalent safeguarding standards under formal written agreements. We review safeguarding practices with partners regularly and maintain the right to suspend funding if standards are not met.
OUR IMPACT
We measure our impact after every programme cycle using validated assessment tools, participant feedback, and long-term outcome tracking at six and twelve months. We publish an annual impact report and share our findings openly with stakeholders, funders, and the communities we serve.
Our trustee board reviews impact data quarterly to ensure our programmes are delivering genuine public benefit and that our resources are being used wisely.
